Personal & Materials Hoist
Materials Hoist
A Materials Hoist Operator may operate a builder’s hoist to move personnel, goods and/or materials. The hoist may be a cantilever hoist, a tower hoist or a multiple winch operation. Workers may also be asked to configure winches to operate hoists to move personnel.
Personal Hoist
A Personal Hoist Operator may only operate a hoist to move goods or materials and not personnel. This type of hoist allows the car, bucket or platform to travel up and down, as well as be cantilevered from the face of the support structure.
